Mannalon, Mag-uuma, Magbabaul, Magsasaka – four dialects, one meaning.

“Known for many terms depending on the geographical location and cultural influence, one thing remains to be the common determination when we talk about farmers – they are our silent and unrecognized heroes” this had been the message of Provincial Governor Erlpe John M. Amante during his welcome remarks at the P4MP National Convention. The activity was held at Butuan City – Caraga region, last May 2 – 4, 2012.

Mainit truly “Mapaso”: a Sizzling Summer Festival

The Municipal Government Unit of Mainit, Surigaodel Norte formally launched on April 26, 2012 the “Mainit Truly Mapaso,” first municipaltourism summer festival at the Kasili Lakeside Resort.

The launch was a package of many activities which included the presentation of the Miss Mainit Queen beauties,song and dance performances by local talents and the releasing of tilapia fingerlings in lakeMainit. The day’s activities was capped by a lake cruise which showcased the scenic areas of the municipality from the town proper to Barangay Tapian, the last barangay. The beautiful view of the lake and its surrounding areas mesmerized the participants as they traversed the lake, the fourth largest and the deepest lake in the Philippines.
